A year of growing faster. With everything that takes.
After a year your company runs without everything going through you. Your management team steers on the same numbers, and you know what your company is worth and how to raise that value. It starts with you, with the scale-up audit. Then I bring in your management team.
You first. Then your management team. Then the rest of your company.
The first quarter lays the foundation: the scale-up audit, a month later the kick-off, the strategy days in the first half of the last month, and the first quarterly session in the second week of the new quarter. In between you write your growth plan. After that it runs on a fixed rhythm: you and me every month, your management team every quarter.
01The scale-up audit
A morning with you and your co-owners. We look at the whole company and at how you make strategy today. You set your exit goal and your ambition, and it produces the research assignment.
The scale-up audit
A morning with you and your co-owners. We look at the whole company and at how you make strategy today. You set your exit goal and your ambition, and it produces the research assignment.
- You fill in the Audit. That takes you ten minutes.
- We talk on the phone. I ask the hard questions and request your documents.
- Only the owners. We take the Audit and look at the whole company
- How you make strategy today, and what could be better
- What only you can decide: your exit goal and your ambition
- More than one label or brand? Then you decide how time and money are divided
- Your exit goal and your ambition, recorded in the app
- The research assignment: what do we need to know to arrive at a good strategy?
02Kick-off with your team
A morning on location, with your whole team. We frame the roles, your team gets to know me and Boldcaster, and everyone goes home with a research assignment.
Kick-off with your team
A morning on location, with your whole team. We frame the roles, your team gets to know me and Boldcaster, and everyone goes home with a research assignment.
- Everyone gets an invite to Boldcaster and fills in their own role
- Where you are heading: you share the exit goal and the ambition, and how the coming year runs
- Boldcaster, and what you do with it every week
- The roles exercise: each person writes down separately who is responsible for what. Where the answers differ, the first work is
- The roles side by side: who sits in which seat and who decides what
- The research assignment divided, with your customer list as the fixed question
- Per role the responsibilities, the decision rights and the goal
- Every responsibility has a name on it
- The app set up with your data, and your whole team in it
03Research
Your team finds out what we need to know. The fixed part is your customer list, with a start and end date per customer. That is the raw material for your strategy.
Research
Your team finds out what we need to know. The fixed part is your customer list, with a start and end date per customer. That is the raw material for your strategy.
- Your customer list: who stays, who leaves, who grows, and can customers who aren't core customers still convert?
- The questions from the research assignment of the scale-up audit
- Usually: conversations with customers, and market research into your competitors
- I hand over the questions, so your team knows what to look for
- I calculate your LTV, your CAC and your customer lifetime from the customer list
- I bundle what comes out of it, ready for the strategy days
04Two strategy days on location
Two days in a row, with your whole team. Day 1 your foundation, day 2 your plan. By the end your strategy is in place and your KPIs are designed.
Two strategy days on location
Two days in a row, with your whole team. Day 1 your foundation, day 2 your plan. By the end your strategy is in place and your KPIs are designed.
- Your strategic foundation rebuilt, with your whole team
- Core values, purpose, core customer, sandbox, brand promise, profit per X and your BHAG
- Within the exit goal and the ambition the owners have set
- Your goals and priorities for three years and for this year
- Your KPI tree, always including your number of core customers, your new core customers and your churn
- For every team member an outline of role, processes and scorecard
- Your strategy canvas is finished, and your management team stands behind it
- Two days in a row, always in person, at a Newday Office near you
- Everyone thinks alone first, then together. You have the final say
- I arrange and pay for the venue, the food and the drinks
05Your growth plan
The bridge between your strategy and your KPIs. You build your funnel: how you bring your service to market with marketing and sales. Usually the sum doesn't add up, and that's where your quarterly session starts.
Your growth plan
The bridge between your strategy and your KPIs. You build your funnel: how you bring your service to market with marketing and sales. Usually the sum doesn't add up, and that's where your quarterly session starts.
- Your offer, your positioning and who it rules out
- Your customer journey, and the two channels you bet on
- Your sales process, with a criterion per stage that is either true or false
- The sum: from your yearly target back to the number of conversations per week
- Two half days with your commercial team, with your own numbers at hand
- You send me the draft, I say what doesn't hold up
- At the quarterly session you present it to your team
06First quarterly session
First you present your growth plan and get feedback. Then we look back on the quarter and design the next one.
First quarterly session
First you present your growth plan and get feedback. Then we look back on the quarter and design the next one.
- Feedback on your growth plan, from your team and from me
- The goals for the quarter, with the KPI targets
- Your critical number: the number everything revolves around this quarter
- Your counter number: the number that must not drop while you chase the first
- The first rocks and OKRs, each with a single owner
- Everything is in the app, so your team sees what it is working on
Check-in with you
Where you stand, what's rubbing, what the next step is. In between, just call or message me.
Every quarterA full day with your team
On location. We look back, set new goals and divide the rocks and OKRs.
A full day with your team
On location. We look back, set new goals and divide the rocks and OKRs.
- Looking back: what's in place, what isn't, and why not
- New goals and KPI targets for the next quarter
- The rocks and OKRs divided, each with a single owner
- I run the session, your management team does the work
- At a Newday Office near you, lunch included
Every quarterSteering on value
Your company is revalued, and we steer on what drives that value, such as your labor efficiency.
Steering on value
Your company is revalued, and we steer on what drives that value, such as your labor efficiency.
- Every quarter you see whether your company is worth more, not just bigger
- We steer on what drives value: your margin, your labor efficiency, how much depends on you
- No financial advice. But the numbers that determine your value, in view every week
All yearA Scale-up Integrator
I teach someone from your own team to guard the rhythm. Then it keeps running, even when I'm not there.
A Scale-up Integrator
I teach someone from your own team to guard the rhythm. Then it keeps running, even when I'm not there.
- Guards the rhythm: the meetings, the KPIs and the priorities
- Keeps the app up to date, so everyone sees the same numbers
- Learns it from me, over the year, in the real work
The strategy event
Once a year, and it's included in the price.
This is in place after the first quarter.
Eleven things, and you can point to every one of them in the app.
- 01Your way of working and all your numbers have been reviewed, from revenue to CPA. Your strengths and weaknesses are on paper
- 02There is a sharp strategy your whole management team stands behind. You know what you steer on
- 03Your entire KPI tree is designed and set up
- 04Your critical number and counter number are set
- 05The KPIs for the first quarter are in place, ready to steer on
- 06Your growth plan is there: your marketing and sales funnel, with the sum underneath
- 07The first rocks and OKRs are worked out and have an owner
- 08Roles are written out, with responsibilities, decision rights and the goal of each role
- 09Your company has been valued and your exit goal is set
- 10The app is set up and your data has been migrated
- 11Your whole team works in the app
At the end of the first quarter we go through the list together in the app. Everything is in there, for you and for me, so you don't have to take my word for it. If something isn't there, you get the first three months back. One condition: your team shows up to the sessions.
And the other way round: if you don't keep your commitments, I stop, and you pay nothing more.
€1,900 per month. All the guidance is included.
Your team works in Boldcaster, from €120 per month for ten people. You buy that from Boldcaster. If your rhythm and numbers are already well set up somewhere else, we work in that.
€1,700 per month
€20,400 a year, paid upfront. That saves you €2,400 a year.
Request a no-obligation quote ↓Distri-X. From ad hoc to aligned.
Distri-X had a strong technical base and a clear ambition. But the leadership got stuck between strategy and execution. There was a strategy, but it wasn't yet anchored in measurable actions and a tight meeting rhythm.
“Working together is wonderfully informal, practical and immediately useful. As partners, we are now far more aligned.”
Louf. From creative chaos to a bakery that can repeat itself.
Louf bakes sourdough in Amsterdam: shaped by hand, three days of fermentation, grains from family farms. Four locations by now. The question wasn't whether more locations could follow, but how. Everything that makes Louf Louf lived in the heads of Maarten and his team: the taste, the standard, the way the morning runs. As long as none of that is written down, every new location is a gamble.
“From creative chaos to structure in one day, without losing our unique vibe. We have a grip on our growth now, and the team knows exactly what needs to happen.”
Questions I get a lot.
Where are the sessions, and is that included?
At a Newday Office near you: Almere, Amersfoort, Amsterdam (West, Zuid or Zuidoost), Apeldoorn, Den Bosch, Rotterdam, Utrecht or Zwolle. I arrange and pay for everything, lunch included. There are no extra costs for the guidance.
Why you?
Because I've done it myself. I owned Arenagym, a gym for entrepreneurs and their teams, for seven years, spent two years guiding scale-ups at ScaleUp Company, and now I'm building a SaaS company. I know the methods, and I know how it feels when your business grows faster than your organization.
How much of our time does it take?
Most of it in the first quarter: a scale-up audit morning, a kick-off morning with your team, the research, two strategy days and your growth plan. After that a monthly check-in with you and a full day with your management team each quarter. I do the write-up, and after every session everything is in the app.
Is it for me, my management team or my whole team?
It starts with you and your co-owners, with the scale-up audit and the check-ins. Your management team joins the strategy days and the quarterly sessions. And your whole team works in the app, so everyone sees where you are heading. Someone from your team becomes Scale-up Integrator and guards the rhythm.
How long does it take?
At least twelve months, because most of the work happens in the first year. After that you can cancel monthly, so you decide how long you continue.
Do I get homework?
No admin. But there is fieldwork: between the kick-off and the strategy days your team puts your customer list together, talks to customers and does market research. And after the strategy days you write the growth plan, with your commercial team. Count on two half days together, plus digging in your own numbers.
We have more than one brand or label. Does that work?
Yes. As long as it's one team, you work in one environment with one strategy. In the scale-up audit you decide how time and money are divided across the labels, and whether each label is a brand of its own. On the strategy days we set the core customer, the sandbox, the brand promise and profit per X per label. Every yearly priority and every KPI gets a label.
What's the difference with just the app?
The app is the system. You buy it from Boldcaster. In the program we put your strategy, your KPIs and your processes into it together.
Do I have to work in Boldcaster?
You don't have to, but I recommend it. Then everything is in one place and we both see the same thing. If your rhythm and numbers are already well set up somewhere else, we work in that.
Can I pay for the year up front?
Yes. Then you pay €1,700 per month instead of €1,900. That saves you €2,400 a year.
And after the first year?
It continues on the same rhythm: four quarterly days, a monthly check-in, the app and the strategy event. Same price, and from then on you can cancel monthly. The setup happens only once, so it isn't part of it anymore.
What if more people join?
Nothing changes in the guidance. If more people work in Boldcaster, you arrange that with Boldcaster.
Not there yet? Start with the scale-up audit.
One day at your office. We look at where you stand and what your company is worth, then map out the route together. If you continue, the full amount is deducted.
One call, half an hour.
You tell me where it hurts, I tell you honestly whether I can help. If it isn't a fit, you hear that in the same conversation.
